Who are we?

art intro

aArtvark is a group that promotes health, wellbeing and security through the use of art in education and therapy. At aArtvark we use a wide variety of techniques such as pencils, pens, pastels, watercolour, acrylic, batik, felt making, clay, papier-mâché, printing, IT- skills, photography and other media. All aspects of art are adapted to the individual needs of the students.

Students, where possible help out on our daily activities such as handing out drinks, discussing new projects, discussing events etc. When we hold exhibitions, the students are involved with the whole process. It is a joy to see how proud the students are to display their work to the public and to discuss it with visitors.

Students work towards their personal goals and their achievements are continuously reviewed.

As an Asdan member, we also teach a range of varied accredited courses but without placing the students under pressure.

We believe in integrated learning with a focus on life skills and art. We have a great professional team and are continuously developing our subjects and techniques. Building on social skills, confidence, wellbeing, reducing anxiety is one of our daily priorities.

Occasionally there are outings to places such as Harry Potter Studio, restaurants, the cinema and the theatre.

aArtvark is split between three rooms. Two classrooms and one room which is a place where meetings can be held privately and where students can have some time out if deemed necessary.
