aArtvark is a group which promotes health, wellbeing and security through the use of art in education and therapy. At aArtvark we use a wide variety of techniques such as pencils, pens, pastels, watercolour, acrylic, batik, felt making, clay, papier-mâché, printing, IT- skills, photography and other media.
All aspects of art are adapted to the individual needs of the students. We have an exhibition every year where the students are involved with the whole process. It is a joy to see how proud the students are to display their work to the public and to discuss it with visitors.
We are currently working on a new, permanent display in the 111 station which is another great life experience for all our students.
We also teach a range of accredited courses such as communication, numeracy, horticulture, computer technology and money. We believe in integrated learning ,focused on life skills and art. We have a great, professional team and are continuously developing our subjects and techniques.Building on social skills is one of our daily priorities.
Occasionally there are outings such as H Potter studio, restaurants, cinema outings and the theatre.
